1st 3 month check-up

1 year ago today, I heard the dreaded word, "cancer". It was an awful, awful time. Here I am, my first check-up done, yesterday, with good results!

I can't help but think of all those who've lost the battle, still fighting or just finding out they have cancer. I truly believe God draws good out of everything. Here is something I read a year ago that I found comfort in: "It is a trial, it can bring us closer to God, or give us an excuse to turn away. We all have crosses to bear, illness or tragedies included. But our perseverance in our love for God through very difficult times has a way of sanctifying us." Also, "Since He suffered for love of us, we should bear our suffering for love of Him."
Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings; do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."

We are so grateful to everyone, family & friends, for the many generous acts of kindness to our family. So grateful, to God, for answered prayer. I still have a long road of doctor visits, but I know God will be with me through it all.

One more quote: "We often spend a lot of time ruminating on the past or agonizing over the future. Instead, take a deep breath and try to be present as much as possible. Don't let your past and future lives get in the way of the wonderful life you're living right now." I think I'll put this on post-its all around my house!
